FAQs
You may have a few questions before taking that first step, and we want you to feel comfortable and informed before you begin. Here, we’ve answered some of the questions we’re asked most often, so you can know what to expect and decide whether Himmah feels right for you.
-
Ruqyah is a form of spiritual treatment rooted in the Qur’ān, authentic supplications and remembrance of Allāh. At Himmah, each session is approached with empathy and discretion, taking into account the individual’s circumstances and needs. Ruqyah is not presented as a replacement for medical or psychological care, and we encourage appropriate professional support where it is needed.
-
Ruqyah is centred on spiritual care and the use of Qur’ānic recitation, adhkār and prophetic supplications in seeking relief from spiritual and other forms of affliction. Mentoring takes a different approach, focusing on personal, spiritual and intellectual development, helping you work through challenges, establish healthier routines, pursue meaningful goals and increase your istiqāmah (steadfastness). The two services can complement one another, but they serve different purposes.
-
Himmah currently offers sessions for both women and men. Women are supported by a female practitioner, while men are supported by a male practitioner. All sessions are conducted according to appropriate Islamic guidelines, with privacy, dignity and professional boundaries carefully maintained.

Yes. If you would prefer written guidance rather than a video session, you can express your interest by contacting us via email. Once we receive your enquiry, we will send you a payment link for the £15 consultation fee. Your consultation will be confirmed once payment has been made and proof of payment has been submitted.
Once your booking is confirmed, you can send through the details of your situation and any relevant questions or concerns. The practitioner will then prepare personalised guidance, including relevant Qur’ānic passages, adhkār and supplications where appropriate, alongside practical recommendations.
